Should Brand New 4k Trailer Leaf Springs be Aligned

Question:

While replacing a leaf spring on my camper, I noticed that the “back” of the spring wasn’t aligned directly below the hanger. It was offset to the left, and so the shackles are also not hanging straight down. I looked at the other leaf spring and noticed that the leafs are not aligned straight with each other. Is this a defect with the leaf spring? Since the spring is “shifted” to the left, do you think this will is an issue? Thanks for your help.

Brand new leaf springs like your 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles - 26" Long # e22YR should not arrive immediately out of alignment. This can happen over time occasionally but shouldn't happen immediately. You can either make a return or try and just bang them back into alignment using a hammer if you want to try that.
