Troubleshooting RV Camera System Where Camera Won't Activate and Running Lights aren't On

Question:
I have my backup camera wired to my parking lights in the back of my rv. I have to turn on the parking lights to see the sceen on my camera. Now my back lights wont come on. What can I do? Thank you

It's pretty common for RV camera systems to use the running light circuit as the power source for the camera. If the lights at the rear of the RV aren't working and therefore not letting the camera function it's most likely a wiring issue. I wish I could tell you exactly where the problem is but you'd want to trace the wiring from the lights that aren't working to where the wires converge and then look for any cut or exposed wire and fix as needed.
