Question:
I have a 2007 Honda Odyssey. I have found the hitch I want and am planning on ordering it soon. The question I have is all I can find on your site is a 4 pole wiring harness, but I am wanting to pull a 7 blade tent camper. I found this adapter but it says I have to hardwire some of the wires. Is there any other options I would have as I really do not want to cut any existing wires in my van? Thanks for the help.

I installed a trailer hitch and trailer wiring on my mother-in-laws 2007 Honda Odyssey and I can tell you that unfortunately there are no plug-in 7-way wiring harnesses. To install a 7-way connector on your Odyssey, I recommend first installing a 4-way harness like the Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness, # 118438. This is a plug-in harness that does not require cutting or splicing. I have attached the installation instruction and an installation video on a 2007 Honda Odyssey for you to check out.
Next, I recommend picking up our Universal 7-way and 4-Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7. This kit includes everything you will need to install a 7-way connector. I have also attached the installation instructions and an installation video of this kit on a Honda Odyssey for you.
The good news is the only wire that you will have to splice into your vehicles tail light wiring is the purple reverse light wire coming from the 7-way connector. None of the other wires will splice into your Odysseys existing wiring. And, if your trailer does not have reverse lights or an electric lockout for surge brakes, then you do not even need to connect that wire. You can simply tie it off and tuck it away.
If the trailer you are towing has electric brakes, then you will also need a brake controller. For this, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, # 90885. This is one of the most popular brake controllers on the market and the installation is shown in the video I attached for the # ETBC7 kit.
