Recommended Replacement For A Connex AVS500BT RV Stereo System

Updated 07/22/2025 | Published 06/24/2023

Question:

I need a replacement for my RV stereo. It is a Connex AVS500BT. I’d like the replacement to be capable of CD, radio, and DVD to play on my outside TV. The VS500BT dimensions are 7” wide, 7 1/4” deep, and 2” high. Bluetooth would be nice. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I do have a replacement option for your Connex AVS500BT that will have all the features you're looking for with the Jensen RV Stereo w DVD Player # JWM70A, but it would require you to make slight alterations to your cutout hole to fit. This stereo require a 7-1/2" wide x 2-3/4" tall x 6-1/4" deep cutout hole so you'd have to trim your current hole a bit larger to fit.

This stereo has 3 output zones, DVD, AM/FM, CD, MP3, and Bluetooth capabilities. It can be controlled using the jControl app that you can download to your smart device as well.

Hello, do you have any replacement recommendations or where to find the same one? My seems to have died. I’d prefer not to have to mess with the cut out

@Bruno The Jensen # JWM90A is the best swap for your Connex AVS500BT because of its nearly identical size and fit, which means you won’t need to modify your RV’s existing stereo cutout. Your current unit measures 7" wide x 7 1/4" deep x 2" high, while the # JWM90A comes in at approximately 6.25" wide x 5.5" deep x 2" high, the faceplate is 17" wide x 3-3/4" tall x 6-1/2" long, the # JWM90A requires a cutout of 10-15/16" wide x 2-7/8" tall x 6-5-16" long. The height is an exact match, and the width and depth are just slightly smaller, making it an easy, drop-in replacement. Most installations won’t require trimming or bracket adjustments, especially since the # JWM90A includes a trim bezel to neatly cover any minor gaps for a clean, factory-style finish. On top of that, it supports DVD, CD, AM/FM, and Bluetooth making it perfect for playing media on your exterior TV while also handling music and radio inside your RV. Any big adventures in the near future Bruno? Where are you off to?
