Could a License Plate be Attached to a Folding Curt Cargo Carrier So its Visible When Folded Up
Updated 02/28/2014 | Published 02/27/2014 >
Question:
I see that there is a license plate frame when the carrier is folded down. Is the plate visible when folded up? Taillights visible in up position? Any racks or carriers that can be mounted to the front? I plan to use this or similar product as an extra barrier from dumb drivers...2005 Chevy Avalanche LT..........Thanks........

You could pretty easily attach your license plate to the mesh flooring of the Curt Cargo Carrier part # C18151 by using zip ties so that it would be visible when folded up.
In the folded up position the taillights should still be visible if they were behind the cargo carrier since the flooring is mesh and would not block the lights.
This cargo carrier is not designed to be used as a battering ram or to cushion the blow of hitting a car. It would work on the front of your vehicle in the folded up position as long as you have less than 3 inches from the center of the hitch pin out to the furthest point out on your front bumper.
