Removing Replacement Stay-Put Cradle on Bike Rack that Has Rivets
Updated 06/19/2023 | Published 06/17/2023 >
Question:
I purchased two replacement cradles last week and have watched your videos on replacing them. The guy in the video says to use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the end cap. Where he shows a screw should be on the underside of the cap, there is just a round hole, like a rivet, and a thin Phillips screwdriver just goes straight up through the hole, no screw to unscrew. How do I remove the cap, and then attach it back if it is riveted?

At one point the The arms had end caps that were held on with rivets which would need to be drilled out to remove. You'd need a rivet gun with correct size rivet to remove and install the # 853-7887 that you have.
