I took a look at the directions for you, and am happy to report no type of cutting or trimming is needed on your 2003 Dodge Durango to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13297.
This is an easy bolt-on install and no drilling is necessary either. I also wanted to mention that if you plan on towing with your Durango and need a wiring harness the correct part is the Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55597.
