Recommended Suspension Enhancement For A 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 Towing A 5th Wheel

Question:

I have a 2016 Chevy silverado 2500hd. I am looking to buy a fifth wheel toy hauler soon and the pin weight is right at the payload capacity. Will the super springs be a good way to help with this?

Suspension enhancement will never increase the capacity of your truck, but it will definitely help offset the load for a safer and more comfortable ride quality. Since you'll be close to your maximum capacity I recommend going with the SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs # SSR-203-47-2. These springs are designed with a progressive load control, meaning that the more weight you place on them the stiffer they become.

The SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit - Factory Leaf Springs Above Axle # SSA13MXKT you were looking at are a good option as well but you're essentially just adding another leaf onto your truck's leaf springs so it can give you a bit stiffer of a ride. It's designed to be a bit loose under no load so that it's not as stiff but it won't compare ride quality-wise to the soft microcellular springs I recommended above.

The # SSR-203-47-2 are super easy to install and since they separate under no load you won't know they're even on there until your loaded up and can see the difference they make for reducing sag. They operate independently so when you catch crosswinds on the highway one side will compress and stiffen up to support the load and push it back straight. The best part about these springs is that once they're installed there's no maintenance whatsoever to complete.
