Question:
I have a 12 volt 17,500 lb winch that draws 500 amps. I wish to use it on the trailer hitch of my truck. What gauge wire would I need to use for this 25 foot run from the battery to the trailer hitch? Also what amp fuse should I use to protect the system? Thank you for your knowledge and response

You'll want to use 2 gauge wire and what you can use for the 12 volt wiring is the Bulldog Winch Rear Wiring Kit - Quick Connect to Terminal End - 2 Gauge - 24' Long # BDW20207.
There isn't a separate fuse as your truck's 12 volt battery should have a fuse already protecting it.
