It looks like the bars slide on the towers. Does the bar lock onto the tower so that it won’t slide back and forth?

The Malone AirFlow2 roof rack crossbars do not lock onto the towers, but the crossbars absolutely will not slide back and forth when on the towers (as an aside, for protection, the feet do lock onto your vehicle's raised side rails).
The 58 inch AirFlow2 is available in either silver or black, the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack - Silver # MPG216 or Black # MAL84AR.
