Is The Ground Connection Incorporated Into The Plug On The Curt T-Connector C53VV?

Updated 09/17/2025 | Published 09/12/2025

Question:

I am looking at Wiring harnesses for my 2025 Sienna. I see that T-one harness It has a separate ground wire but the Curt harness does not. Is the ground incorporated into the Curt harness connector?

Hi Len!

I had not noticed that before. I asked and Curt does indeed integrate the ground into the plug in connection on a lot of their wiring harnesses and the # C53VV T-Connector is one of them. Tekonsha almost always has a separate ground that needs to be drilled in by the installed, but they actually do it from time to time as well.

With that being said, I would go with the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # TK69FR. It may be a slightly more difficult install due to that ground, but I have found their harnesses to be the most reliable. It's the one to get.

What are you going to be towing?

Lazar, Thanks for the reply. Since I hadn't heard a reply in a few days I called your support line and got the confirmation that the ground was incorporated in the Curt. Unfortunately I've already ordered the Curt harness so can'r follow your recommendation on the T-One. It shouldn't a problem anyway because the harness will be rarely used. Thanks again, Len

@LenC No worries! Sorry for the late reply, we got a bit behind and are struggling a little to get caught up. The Curt will still serve you well too. They have actually started getting better with their reliability as well, so it's not like it's gonna fall apart or anything like that. I just prefer the Tekonsha ones. If you had ordered a different brand, I may have said otherwise though. : P Let me know if you have any other questions or anything!
