Will Arcing 12 Volt Accessory Wire of 7-Way Cause Dash Error Codes

Question:
My truck started alarming telling me to check trailer connection but everything works properly. I took the 7 way plug apart to check the connections and found that the black 12v wire is arcing when not plugged into my truck

You definitely found the problem with the arcing wire! You need to insulate that wire better to prevent that. You can do that pretty easily with electrical tape like our part number # PTW502.
