Which Pins Are Towed Vehicle Charge Line Kits Connected To During The Installation

Question:

Which line/pin should i connect the wire coming from the battery on a 2022 Ford e450 chateau RV to on the plug at the rear. The 6 wire on the toad is connected to the center pin. All seven pins are in use on the RV. Do i cut the 12V line Black and hook the new 12V line? My coil wire is what etrailer recommended. Does the 12V line on the seven pin go to the center pin on the 6 way?

The center pin on a 7-way is typically going to be the reverse light and the 12v hot lead is typically going to be in the 1 o'clock position. On a 6-way the 12v power pin is the center. Some times manufacturers already install the charge line (especially on newer models like your 2022) so you might not even need to install the # RM-156-75. With the engine running I would use a tester # PTW2993 on the 7-way 12v power pin to see if it already has power. If so then you're good to connect the adapter cable between your motorhome and towed vehicle.

You can check to make sure that the charge is coming through by testing the center pin on the back side of the 6-way socket. If you don't have a line ran from the center to the battery then you can just use the # RM-156-75 there and trim down the provided wire for the shorter length in the towed vehicle.
