Do I Have To Switch To Thermostat Wire From The Phone Line Connection When Using Thermostat # DMC79F

Question:

I have ordered a new dometic roof top and a ct thermostat and was led to believe my old, I’m talking 23 yr old dometic with the phone cord type communication line. Do I have to run new comm line to put therm and rooftop to communicate?

Yes, I recommend running a new thermostat wire for your Single Zone Thermostat # DMC79FR as it is designed to work with thermostat wire which is typically 18 gauge wire. The phone cord wire you currently have is only 22-24 gauge wire and you risk damage to the thin wire if you were to try and use it.
