Question:
For my Chev Silverado1500 driver side mirror there is only 1/2inch distance form the mirror face to the mirror frame to attach this clamp. Is that enough frame? The video shows a gap between the frame and the mirror that the clamp can slide into. I dont have any gap to accept the clamp. Is this system going to work?

Yes, you will be able to use the clamp on CIPA Towing Mirrors # CM11980-2 on your 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. I have linked a video below where we installed these mirrors on a 2019 Silverado. Personally I find using a set of custom fit mirrors like the K-Source Snap & Zap Custom Towing Mirrors # KS80930 as the best solution. These mirrors clamp around the factory mirrors and have no pieces or clamps that can get lost or damaged. The housing provides for a very stable platform to reduce mirror vibration like you get with other clamp on mirrors. I have also included a video for these mirrors below for you to review.
