What Is the Per-Bike Rating of the Kuat NV 2.0 For A Class I or II Hitch?

Question:
The general advertising for the Kuat Transfer v2 1-Bike has proven to me, at least to be confusing and poorly written as regards the weights supported by the hitch. If you look at various advertisements on site, you will generally see that wherever specifications are shown, a single, undifferentiated listing of maximum supported weight is listed as 60 pounds. Among other reasons I leaned towards buying the hitch was that I have already installed on my car a 1.25inch hitch and, assuming from all that I had read that, or all that was implied but not qualified, that both size hitches supported the listed 60 lbs. In watching an installation video on Youtube, however, I was shocked to see that there was, rather, a difference in supported bike weight between the two hitch sizes: the 1.25 apparently supports 40 lobs, while the 2.0 supports 60. Not wishing to pay for the removal of my hitch and the installation of another, would you agree that I should not buyf the Transfer 2 1-Bike?

Hopefully I can clear some confusion up for you. So what I think is happening is you're looking at two-different things for the same rack.
The Kuat NV 2.0 Base 2-Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" Hitches # BA12B you're looking at has a capacity of 60-lbs per bike and will work with both class I & II 1-1/4" hitches.
There is also a 4-bike version # BA22B-BA02B that is only going to work with 2" hitches and has a 60-lbs per bike capacity when used as a two-bike carrier, or a 40-lbs per bike capacity when used as a 4-bike carrier which is what I believe you're seeing.
The different receiver sizes won't make a difference for the two-bike version as they're both rated for 60-lbs per bike.
