Will #C12232 fit a 2001 Sable Station Wagon? I don’t see anything about wagons.

Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12232 is compatible with your 2001 Mercury Sable station wagon as well as the sedans. This will only fit on models with the single passenger side exit exhaust. If you have a dual exhaust you will not be able to fit this receiver without modification to the exhaust.
The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55343 will give you a plug and play 4-way flat connector. This is what you will need to tow most small trailers or carry a hitch mounted accessory which requires Auxiliary Lights # C53201.
