Question:

Hello, I have a 2020 Ram 3500 Dually that I use to carry a truck camper and tow a boat. I installed Item # C56000, to have a 7 blade connector on the bed of the truck where I connect the truck camper. I recently upgraded the boat which it has surge brakes and reverse lights. When I connect the 7 blade plug of boat to the bumper of the truck, the reverse lights of my truck camper turn on and remain on. Also, the reverse lighs of the boat trailer do not turn when on reverse, and the running brake lights are not fully illuminated. When i disconnect the boat from the bumper of the truck, the lights on the truck camper work perfectly.

It sounds like the 7-Way # A7WCB on your new boat trailer is hooked up incorrectly. Since The Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness # C56000 only tee's into the existing wiring this is the only logical explanation. You will need to check the wiring on the boat trailer and either correct the wiring at the 7-way or the junction box on the trailer. If all the wiring is in the correct space you will then need to check the wiring for any shorts that would cause the wiring to back feed into another circuit.
