Question:

I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab with the short bed. I need a replacement cover for the existing Extang Express roll up cover that I had. I still have the rails installed but the cover and the front and rear rail was damaged. Trying to see if is possible to piece together a replacement or just have to buy a whole new system. It looks like I can purchase the front rail and the cover, but I do not have the original model number so I cannot confirm the correct one to buy. I also cant tell if the rear rail is included in the cover purchase or not.

What you have on your 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 is the Extang Express 50725. The # EX49725 is the correct replacement tarp, but it does not include the rails. Unfortunately, the front cab rail you looked at is for a different model of this tonneau cover and won't work. The tail rail assembly is also not available and Extang no longer makes these parts.

This means you're looking at a whole new tonneau cover. Assuming you want to stick with a soft roll-up cover, I recommend the TruXedo TruXport Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover # TX270601. This has a similar design to what you had with the Express and mounts on top of the bed rails with a standard profile.
