Expert Reply:
You can use any transmission cooler on any automatic transmission whether it is 2 wheel drive, 4 wheel drive, or all wheel drive. The only time it can be a problem is on CVT transmissions and on vehicles where there is no easy access to the fluid lines.
The most popular cooler for a 2001 Ford F-350 is # D13503. The cooler measures 11 inches wide by 8-3/4 inches tall by 7/8 inches deep. You will also need hose fitting # D13025 so you will not have to cut and flare lines to install the cooler. I have included a link to a video showing a typical installation and a link to our informational article on transmission coolers for you.
