Can BOLT Trailer Hitch Receiver Locks Be Re-Keyed or Have a New Key Cut to Use Them
Updated 04/10/2023 | Published 04/07/2023 >
Question:
I bought two BOLT hitch locks keyed to my FORD F550 truck. I have since sold the truck and would like to use these two locks on my new vehicle, which is NOT a Ford. Can I get a Ford key or key blank that I can use? I love these locks and I hate to part with them. Thank you in advance for your help.

Unfortunately, you can't. The BOLT Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # BL7023585 that you have is permanently code to only 1 specific vehicle/key. They cannot be re-coded or re-keyed, the locks will only work with the original vehicle/key.
Unfortunately, you would need to get new locks that are compatible with your new vehicle.
