Recommended Hand Hole Mount Style Valve Extenders For Inner Dual Wheels

Updated 02/17/2025 | Published 03/18/2023

Question:

Hello, I have a 2022 F350 XLT dually pickup with alum 17 inch rims on the outside duals. I am just looking for some type of valve stem extenders for the inside duals that wont flop around while rolling down the road that are somehow secured to the oval opening in the outside dual. P.S.: they have the big plastic center hub caps. What do you recommend? Thank you

For the inner wheel of your dual rear wheels I recommend the Wheel Masters 2-Hose Inflation Kit - 16" to 19-1/2" Inner Dually # WM8009. These valve extenders are designed to mount into the handholes of your wheels (pictured below) for an easy installation that won't require drilling, like a hub-mount style would.

The installation is as follows:

1. Clip the 2 included brackets to a hand hole on each outer wheel without wheel cover or wheel liner.
2. Attach the hoses to the valve stems on the inner tires.
3. Run the hoses to the outer wheels and attach the hoses to the hand hole brackets.
4. Screw on the valve caps.

Hello Kevin, Thanks for the reply to the other Kevin. I think this may work for me, but curious about the fit on the aluminum hand hold. Any scratching possible once installed? Can a rubber piece be added for helping to elimate the possibility of scratches? And finally, good fit for a 24 F350 dually stock wheels? Thanks again.

@Brian The stock tire size I'm seeing for your 2024 Ford F-350 is LT275/65R20E. Is that the size you have? Hand-hole mounts tighten up against the hole so they shouldn't move around at all and scratch, but you could potentially scratch the wheel getting them on. A very thin piece of rubber or maybe even some tape could be used to prevent metal on metal contact but too thick and you could run into fitment issues or have the mounts pop off.

Thanks for response. Looking at thickness of handhold and the gap on product I do not think the two would match up even before consideration of the rubber cushion. Thanks for the response. The hunt continues. @KevinC

@Bb Could you email me a picture of your wheels? If you have the larger plastic hub cover on your wheels switching to a hub mount style extender might work.
