Question:

My solera smart arm awning controller stopped working. I checked the connector cords to the controller box and get 12v power. I purchased and installed a new controller box and did hard reset and still not getting any lights or buttons working on the controller box. I read lots of people have issues with the controller boxes stop working. No corrosion seen on the pins and there is the silicone covering the wires and dielectric grease on connecting points.

There was a recall on certain controllers back in 2018 where there was a manufacturer defect that would allow water inside of the controller rendering it useless. Depending on when you bought your awning it could be effected by this recall.

The fact that you have 12v power to the controller # LC717666 and even replaced it and still are having issues makes me believe that there's an issue with the wiring harness. I would first start by calling into Lippert and seeing if you have a defective controller under their recall. From there I would check the wiring coming from the drive head to the wiring harness and then to the controller for any signs of damage. It could be that one of the wires on the drive head that connects to the wiring harness got loose or damaged during operation and isn't properly communicating with the controller.
