Recommended Roof Rack for Camper Shell with Tracks
Updated 02/13/2023 | Published 02/11/2023 >
Question:
Can I send you a picture of the roof rail on my truck cap? The rack mounted is not sturdy and I don’t know what parts I could use to replace the rack using the rails. They are not a t-channel type.

In order to add a roof rack to a camper shell we usually just recommend the Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells part # Y02-490B since it's a complete kit that comes with everything you need including the rails and aero crossbars. If you already have rails that you want to reuse, you might be able to use the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack for Factory Tracks part # Y02-490B-NT. The roof tracks are usually a pretty standard size in regards to the channel size so you shouldn't have many issues with brand and compatibility. That said, if they are not like the ones that come with the above you may need to remove them and replace them for a more widely compatible set.
If you want to send me a photo of your existing tracks, I'd be glad to give it a look but doubtful I would be able to identify which exact set you have if there are no model numbers or identifying marks.
