Will this hitch work on a 2022 Chevy 2500.

With your 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 having a short bed it is recommended to have a sliding hitch like the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R16 Roller # 16516. Having the slider will allow you to move the hitch back 12" so you will have enough room to jackknife the trailer for maneuvering without hitting the front corner of the 5th wheel into the back of the cab. The Curt E16 # C16115 which comes with the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Rails and Universal Installation Kit # C16116 is fixed and will not slide. With this style hitch in a short bed you will want to use a pivoting pin box like the Reese # RP77FR.

For installation, the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # C16429-204 will provide for a much easier install than the Universal Kit # C16100 included with the kit you found. The custom mounting brackets attach to the frame with no drilling required.
