Can the BAKFlip G2 be 1/4 folded open and still stay in place at highway speeds? I want to carry my generator near the tailgate, but the generator sticks up above the bed rails. I want the rest of the truck bed to be covered to protect contents from rain. Thank you.

The folding tonneau covers like the BAKFlip G2 part # BAK26407 cannot be partially open while travelling down the highway but I do have a similar solution that would work for what you are looking for. You'd want a retractable tonneau cover like the Pace Edwards Full Metal JackRabbit part # 311-FMT3554 that fits your 2015 Toyota Tacoma 6 ft bed which can be opened at various points in 12 inch increments like what you would need. This is a manual retracting tonneau but if you wanted to be super fancy you could get the powered retractable PowerTraxPRO XR tonneau # RTT-90812.
