Question:

I am thinking about getting a Lomax Hard Tonneau Cover - Folding - Aluminum - Matte Black Item # AB1020029 for my 2022 GMC Canyon and I want to find out if I can install the Yakima Tracks onto the bed rail caps with the Lomax installed. It’s not clear if there’s enough room left on the cap after installing the Lomax. The bed rails are about 4 1/2 inches wide. Thanks.

I would be happy to help you. The Lomax Hard Tonneau Cover item # AB1020029 you referenced does fit the 5' bed model of the 2022 GMC Canyon. However, it does not have the ability to mount any accessories. It does leave open access to the stake pockets.

The Yakima 60" Tracks item # Y00135 you were looking at are typically mounted on the roof tops of camper shells and require drilling. It looks like there is more than enough space to use the two together but you would have to drill into your truck and there are better options to do what you're wanting. They wouldn't be secured enough mounting them only to the bed cap. You would need to drill into the top of the bed. The tracks are 1-5/8" wide x 1/2" tall x 60" long.

Instead, I recommend the RetraxONE XR Hard Tonneau Cover item # RTT-60454. This cover includes built in T-slots to mount crossbars like item # RRVA180B-RRRLT600.
