Question:
Greetings, I own a 2001 Ford F150 XL 4x4 with Triton V8 engine. I have been researching purchasing a light weight snow plow that attaches to a front receiver hitch. My question is how much clearance will there be from level ground to the bottom of this hitch? I have 17 inch OEM wheels P245/70/R17 truck has factory frame, no modifications. I live in the country so often drive off road. Also I realize an aluminum snow plow seems like an incorrect application but, I live alone in the country, Im retired and a grandmother. The ease of taking this on and off is my main objective being light weight. This is the website for the snow plow I found. I would appreciate the expertise from any of you to assure me the two expenditures will match up and work cohesively. With kind regards, thank you!

When the Curt front hitch part # 31038 is installed on your 2001 Ford F-150 it's going to fit right up to the bottom of the front bumper so it would remove right at 2-1/2 inches of current ground clearance. I don't have an exact figure I can give you but if you measure your current ground clearance and subtract 2-1/2 inches you'd know.
We actually used to carry the SnowSport HD plow you are interested in but at this time we do not have any aluminum plows. All we have are steel options like the Detail K2 Elite part # K2AVAL8826ELT which does fit the Curt front hitch you mentioned.
