Question:

I have a Heartland Bighorn 5th wheel trailer 3270RS. Currently has electric brakes. looking to up grade to disc brakes .What would you recommend for the trailer,7000 lb Dexter axles tandem wheel 16 tires G rating 8 lug bolt pattern. GVW of trailer is15,500lb. I live on the East Coast in NJ. Looking for a complete kit . package I am pulling the trailer with a 2017 GMC 2500HD Denali Pick up 6.6 liter Duramax Diesel with factory prep towing package. Regards,

In order to convert a 2017 Heartland RV Bighorn Fifth Wheel from electric drum to hydraulic disc brakes I recommend using the Hydrastar Disc Brake Kit part # HSE7K-T1. This is a mostly complete kit that has everything you need from the disc brakes to the brake lines and actuator. The only things it does not come with are some of the smaller items like the oil cap and oil, I recommend the Oil Cap and Plug part # HYD27FR and Kodiak Synthetic Bearing Oil part # XLPROLUBE.

Please note, you'll need to make sure your brake controller has an electric over hydraulic mode (if factory) in order to be compatible with the above kit because if it does not you'd need the Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Adapter Module for Ford and Chevy Brake Controllers part # HBA-CAM as well.
