Question:

Hi, We have a RAM Promaster 2019, and we have a pair of ... chains. We have only used them last winter for a bout 5 days, and this winter we are on day 7. No some of the cross-link bars have snapped. Yes, we are driving on roads which consist of all: snow, ice, corrugated ice, asphalt - all within a few yards. Thats just how roads are in the mountain in January when one snow storm after another goes through, with sunny patches in between. I have no interest in paying another $200 or more for getting the same chains. I liked the self-tensioning, but more important I need something that is realiable on mountain roads and does not snap. Any recommendations? Thanks.

There are nicer tire chains out there that will last a lot longer that what you experienced with the set you have now. The difference is that the metals used in the nicer chains is a harder metal that doesn't wear out as quickly.

If you wanted the nicest set that fits your tire size of 225/75-16 on your 2019 Ram ProMaster 2500 the Konig Easy Fit Chains part # TH04115245 will last a very long time, provide great traction, are self tensioning, and install in a matter of seconds.

Otherwise for a similar set that just isn't quite as easy to install the Konig set part # TH01594245 would be what you'd want.
