We have two different tailgate-assist products that are compatible with your 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. The DeeZee # DZ43300 provides resistance that makes lowering the tailgate easier.
Hopkins offers what they can a Tailgate EasyLift, part # 74211 that is a torsion spring that removes about 80 percent of the weight of the tailgate, which would make it easier to raise the tailgate.
