Can Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller Module Be Mounted to Driver Kick Panel
Updated 01/03/2023 | Published 01/02/2023 >
Question:
I installed the module vertices on the drivers side kick panel area. Is this acceptable? I ask because it is wildly inconsistent. Its either non reactive or locking thr brakes if I hit a bump while slowly rolling in a parking lot. Thank you,

In regards to the Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller part # C51170, the instructions simply state to attach the main module to a solid surface such as a dash panel. In other words, the surface must have no movement. An example of a bad spot would be zip tied it to a wiring harness. The driver side kick panel is perfectly acceptable for mounting the module.
If you're having issue with the controller, take a look at the control knob for a flashing light frequency which you can compare to the chart below for a remedy.
