Can A Friction Sway Control System Be Used To Prevent Sway When Triple Towing
Question:
I have a 17 crestliner fishing boat about 2200 pds boat and trailer and pull it behind my fifth wheel. I want to take any chance of sway out of the pole tongue. What would you recommend? The EQ95-01-5950 and the 17200 do the job?

Since you have a pole-tongue you would need an adapter like the # EQ95-01-5950 you referenced to be able to use the Curt Friction Sway Control # 17200. The only problem with this is that the pole adapter is really designed for use with weight distribution hitches, so using just a friction sway control wouldn't be splitting the load evenly between both sides and while the adapter is made to be heavy duty it hasn't been tested receiving stress to only one side. You'd be taking taking the liability if anything happened, not that it probably would since it's only a 2,200lb boat/trailer, but the risk is still there.
If you don't already have a ball mount with a friction sway control bracket then you can use the # RP26003 instead of having to weld on the tab that comes with part # 17200.
You also won't be able to back up at all while the friction sway control is installed.
