Solution for Stealth Hitch Attachment Stuck in Receiver
Updated 04/23/2025 | Published 12/07/2022 >
Question:
I have reviewed and retried several times to remove the receiver, but no luck. I have unlocked the pop-out lock, its in the unlocked/released position and the release knob turns clockwise freely, but the hitch receiver will NOT out as expected. Its been in place for over a year... is it just stuck? Bigger hammer?

Stealth does recommend removing the hitch attachment of their hitches like the part # SH84VR when not in use so that's probably why yours is not wanting to release. So what I would recommend is spraying some WD40 where it inserts and then next using a rubber mallet to see if you can get it to release. It may take a few times of trying this but it should eventually let go. I would first spray with WD40, give the hitch a couple good whacks with the rubber mallet to help the WD40 penetrate and then wait maybe 20 minutes or so and see if you can get it to come off.

I have only had my hitch in for a week and it is stuck! Why? This should not happen for what I paid for this. How do I get my hitch back to being stealth without a rubber mallet. That is what I paid for and what I expect.
