Question:

In the QandA section, someone asked where a transfer switch would be installed, and your expert answered ahead of the power center. Another question asked was can inverters be used with this system? Doesnt this power center have a transfer switch and an inverter built in?

Expert Reply:

The Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger part # PD4060K has a built-in converter which will charge the batteries using shore power. It does not contain an inverter or transfer switch which will power the appliances without being hooked up to shore power and cut power when shore power is plugged in. For this, you'd need the Progressive Dynamics Pure Sine Wave Inverter with Transfer Switch like part # PD44FR.

I have attached a sample wiring diagram below. Please note, you will need to install an AC sub-panel to use the inverter with this panel. If you need further assistance with this please reach out to a qualified RV electrician in your area.
