Which RV Door Lock Brand Has The Most Key Code Combinations
Published 11/11/2022 >
Question:
Hello, Im looking for a rv door lock that is more secure than the global link key. Do you sell any rv locks that dont use the global link key, in which there are more possible combinations? Also, Im looking to replace my slam latch r001 key lock... do you sell anything that is more secure than the r001 key system with more key combinations? Thank You

We carry the Bauer Products line of RV locks, but they only have 60 different key combinations versus the 90 combinations that Global Link uses. That being said it's pretty rare that you would ever run into someone with the same key code.
The R001 key code leads me to believe that you have a Southco slam latch since they use "RXXX" for their codes. Global Link uses "GXXX" and Bauer Products just uses numbers. Slam latches that are different sizes could both have the same lock core in them so I would need to know the dimensions of your slam latch cutout hole to find the correct replacement for it.
For example, the Global Link RV Entry Door Locking Latch Kit # 295-000019 you were looking at requires a cutout hole 2-1/2" to 3" wide x 3-1/2" to 4" tall. I've attached a video below where I'll walk you through how to measure and install a door lock.
