Instructions For Attaching the Windslip and Wheel Covers For the Thule Ducato QuickFit Tent

Updated 11/04/2022 | Published 10/28/2022

Question:

I just had to order track awning from a sailing company because the ducato quick fit tent is not compatible with the Omnistar Thule 6300 awning on my promaster without a awning fixation kit that is required, not supplied. You dont sell this on your website, and Thule has none available in North America. I would like to know how to attach the wheelcovers and the wind cover, or whatever that long vinyl piece is....the visual instructions look like you have to silicone it somewhere, or screw it in? Horrible instructions.

The Ducato QuickFit Tent for Thule HideAway Awnings # TH307060 is made to work with HideAway awnings. While the Omnistor (available in Europe) and the HideAway (available in North America) are similar, they are two different awnings and the Ducato tent is not designed to work with the Omnistor. This is also why the parts are not available in North America.

As far as the installation of the windslip and wheel covers are concerned, you are correct that you will need to drill and seal with silicone. The windslip will be slid into the caravan rail. The wheel covers are where you will need to drill. You will need to drill 3 holes to attach the snaps to secure the wheel covers. A 3mm hole using the screws to secure the snap if you have walls with a wood base. A 4mm hole using rivets to secure the snaps if you have walls with a foam base. With both methods, you will close the holes with silicone to avoid water infiltration.
