Is Westin HDX Grill Guard For A 2022 F-250 Super Duty Diesel FX4 Compatible With Front Mounted Hitch

Updated 12/16/2024 | Published 09/19/2022

Question:

I want to mount a Westin HDX Grille Guard with Punch Plate - Black Powder Coated Steel Item # 57-3905 and the EcoHitch Front receiver hitch part# 306-X7904. I previously had the Westin HDX grille guard with winch tray, but do not want to permanently mount my winch. Instead I will have a receiver mounted cradled winch with an external power connection. Are the HDX and receiver able to be mounted together without mounting issues?

After doing some research into both products and your vehicle The Westin HDX Grille Guard # 57-3905 is not compatible with The EcoHitch Front Receiver # 306-X7904.

Both grille guard and front mount hitch occupy the same mounting space. You would have to choose one or the other.

The Westin HDX Grille Guard # 57-3905 or The Ecohitch Front Mount Hitch # 306-X7904.

I attached an installation video link of the front mount hitch below.

Will the Ecohitch work with a Ranch Hand Legend Grill Guard? I currently have the Ecohitch from Etrailer and looking at adding a grill guard.

@JonJ Not likely Jon. There's a good chance these two parts are going to use the same mounting location so you'd need to choose between the two. If you were using the front hitch to mount a winch, then I'd recommend using something like the Westin HDX Winch Mount Grille Guard with Punch Plate # 57-93905 which already has a winch mounting plate integrated.

@BryceD Yes i use the ecohitch for a winch in a cradle. So you are recommending remove the ecohitch and go with the Westin or does the westin work with the ecohitch?

@JonJ Correct, I'd recommend getting rid of the EcoHitch and using a grille guard like the one I mentioned that already has the winch cradle built in. The two are going to occupy the same spot so you can't have both the grille guard and hitch mounted at the same time. If you're interested in this, let me know what your YMM is for your vehicle and I can get you directed towards one that will fit.
