Recommendation to Stabilize Living Quarters Horse Trailer with Single Front Jack

Published 09/15/2022

Question:

I have a very large living quarters horse trailer think super heavy RV with a single hydraulic jack. There are no stabilizers on the trailer, so when you are staying in it, it rocks quite a bit. Are there any suitable methods to minimize the rocking? Total trailer weight is just over 15k lbs.

To help stabilize your horse trailer I recommend adding sets of the Lippert Scissor Stabilizer Jacks with Handle # LC285344 along your trailer frame. These are designed to essentially take up space between your trailer frame and the ground and limit rocking. Typically you'll install one set at the front of the trailer and one set at the back but you can install these anywhere along the frame to give you the best situation possible.

The only thing you want to keep note of is that these are 4-1/4" tall when collapsed so they will reduce the ground clearance of your horse trailer as well.

Attached is a review video for you to check out. We can also look into using 2 jacks at the front of your horse trailer but that won't be as cost-effective and I'd need to know what the style at the front of your trailer looks like where the jacks will mount.
