Question:
Can you tell me why this super clamp EX is not compatible for a RV travel trailer even though the trailer has a 2” receiver hitch.

Expert Reply:
The reason the Saris SuperClamp EX Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # SA4025F is not compatible with motorhomes despite having a 2" hitch, is because the rear of motorhomes are very rough compared to the ride quality at the rear of a passenger vehicle and the bike is not rated for those forces.
This is due to the suspension not being as sophisticated and there is a longer distance between the rear axle and the rear of the trailer which exaggerates the movement of the trailer.
Instead of the Saris SuperClamp EX Bike Rack # SA4025F, I recommend checking out the:
-Swagman Chinook Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # S64683
This bike rack a weight capacity of 45-lbs per bike, for a total of 90-lbs, and can be used with a motorhome.

I purchased a Saris Superclamp for the specific use of behind a motorhome. This was a couple of years ago and at the time, it was one of the few ebike racks that claimed that it could be used behind a motorhome. Evidently this is not true any longer. However a Swagman ebike rack claims it can be used on, not only a motorhome, but also a towable. What is different about the Swagman that allows it or what part fails on the Saris that it’s not allowed now? Thank you
