The NOCO Genius Multi-Bank Smart Battery Chargers like part # NOC24FR should not be mounted directly to carpet as the charger creates heat which is a potential fire hazard and they need to be able to circulate for that heat dissipation. I have attached for you below the guidelines the manufacturer gives for mounting the charger.

"Locate the charger as far away from the battery as possible. Do not place the charger directly above the battery as gases from battery will corrode and damage charger. Prevent battery acid from coming in contact with the charger. Do not operate the charger in a closed-in area or an area with restricted ventilation. Do not set a battery on top of charger. Position cable leads to avoid accidental damage by moving vehicle parts (including hoods and doors), moving engine parts (including fan blades, belts, and pulleys), or what could become a hazard that may cause injury or death."
