Redarc Tow-Pro Elite LED Not Showing Calibration With Trailer Disconnected

Question:
Hello, I recently installed a Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller in a 2016 Toyota Tundra. It doesnt appear to be calibrating. When I push the dial, the blue LED appears then dims, but that is the only lights I see when the truck is on. No lights appear while driving. Does the trailer have to be connected for calibration to take place? Thank you for your time.

What you are experiencing with your # RED44FR is perfectly normal. The brake controller will still calibrate without the trailer connected, but you won't have the LED indication showing this is happening. Once a trailer is connected you will see a solid blue light. However, it wouldn't hurt to hook up the trailer and make sure everything is functioning properly.
