Question:
Hello I purchased the Redarc tow pro elite kit to replace the oem brake controller with the plug and play harness. After installation the TMPS light will not reset. Went to the local tire shop they could not get the light to reset either. I unplugged the harness and plugged the factory controller back in. The light turned off. Do you have any suggestions on how to use this controller with out activating the TMPS? Question 2 is I have driven 50 miles and the unit has not exited the calibration mode?

Expert Reply:
I actually just recently ran into a similar issue with a Redarc brake controller on a Toyota vehicle. The issue was the integrated diode Redarc uses on the plug-in-play harness not allowing for 12 volts to be sent to the stop light switch circuit. I bet if you tested the stop light circuit on the tow package port with the brake pedal applied you would get less than 12 volts. The fix is to use a new harness, the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter part # C51455 with Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter part # 331-TPH-019. This will fix both the TPMS light and calibration error.
