Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Not Calibrating On 2012 Acura MDX

Question:
I just purchased a Redarc Tow-pro Elite from e-trailer and intalled it using a plug and play adapter but it will not show any lights indicating when it should be calibrating. I followed the installation instructions very carefully. Ive checked voltage across all wires to ground at the controller plug and get 12V from the brake sensor when the brakes are applied, continuous 12V from the power line, and oddly 6-7V continuously from the brake blue line. The controller will flash blue when the manual override button is depressed, but that is the only light I ever see. I may be incorrectly assuming that the 6-7V I see at the blue wire is some feedback since it is 1/2 the battery voltage. What else should I consider to look for?

Expert Reply:
A blinking blue light after the manual override is pressed on your Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR can mean a couple different things. This may mean the remote head cable may have been damaged. You should check the cable between the remote head and the main unit and inspect for damages. It also may mean the red wire is constantly at low voltage, check voltage to the red wire and reassess the connection point if necessary. Additionally, you should not be receiving voltage on the blue wire until the manual override is depressed or the brake pedal is pressed while in motion.
