Question:
Hi! I’ve got a door leading to an attic in my house. I was hoping to use a ladder which folds or ticks away or telescopes out of the way. Height = 4’-9 1/2” vertical Horizontal distance should be anywhere between 16” to 57” Door jam opening is 2’-3” I’d be happy to send a pic if that helps. What would you recommend ? Thanks!

I recommend using the Telesteps Telescopic A-Frame Ladder # TE24FR. This A-frame ladder extends to 6' tall and the retracted ladder (29") can be stored in a smaller closet. The A-frame style also provides more support than a typical telescopic ladder.
