Question:

The Maxxfan 4951KS in my 2020 Grand Design 28BH Fifth Wheel is having issues with the lid lift mechanism. I returned to my trailer after a rain storm to find the fan still running. I was surprised since it has a rain detector. I hit the close button on the 4 button remote and it beeped but didn’t close. So I manually closed it by turning the knob. Then I hit the open button to see if that would work. At first it would just beep and nothing would happen but 15 minutes later I tried again and it opened the lid but much slower than normal. It still wouldn’t close. Now a day later it won’t open or close via the button but it does beep once when you try and it also won’t open manually. Any suggestions as to which parts I need to replace to get the lid operating again?

Most likely the circuit board on your MaxxAir MaxxFan 4951KS is malfunctioning and can be replaced with the Replacement Printed Circuit Board for MaxxAir MaxxFan Plus Roof Vents # MA10A04751KS. Since you said it was having issues manually opening as well then the gears of your lift operator may also be worn and in need of the # MA10-20281K-1AF for the replacement.
