Question:
I would like to order a hitch for model 3, the hitch has 300 pound tongue weight capacity. if hitch tongue weight capacity is 300 pounds and that weight is 13 inches from receiver how much weight can hitch handle as I think tongue weight is normally assumed that the weight will be 8inch from receiver? as the further from receiver lowers tongue weight?

Expert Reply:
The EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # EH84GR which is a fit for a 2022 Tesla Model 3 has a 300 lb tongue weight rating. If you need to use a hitch extender like the Curt Hitch Extender part # C45795, this will reduce the weight capacity of the hitch by 50%. This is not just the case for the above hitch and adapter but any you use with a hitch extender.
