We definitely have an option for you. In order to determine if it is possible to mount a kayak carrier to your cargo basket, it truly depends on the exact diameter of the bars of the basket. This is because most bars on rooftop baskets like the Curt Cargo Basket # C18115 have bars that are too small to accommodate the clamps of our kayak carriers. If you have a basket that is anything like the # C18115, it is unfortunately not possible to attach a carrier directly the the bars. If you happen to have larger bars on your basket, feel free to respond to this answer with the basket model you have and I can definitely see if our kayak carrier clamps will work.

With that being said, you can definitely remove your basket from the crossbars and attach kayak cradles directly to the bars. For a great option, I recommend the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs # Y04073. The JayLow allows to to transport 1 kayak in the j-style position or 2 kayaks in the vertical position. As far as compatibility with your crossbars, the JayLow can attach to crossbars as long as they do not exceed 3-1/2" wide x 1-11/16" tall. In order to make sure your crossbars are compatible, I recommend measuring the width and height of your bars.

In order to lock your JayLow carriers to your bars for theft-deterrence, I suggest using the Same-Key Lock Cores # Y07202. Also, in order to add a second kayak, you need the Yakima Bow/Stern Tie-Downs # Y04031.

I went ahead and attached some helpful videos for you to check out.
