Question:

I have a 2017 Audi Q7 with a standard audi 48” roof rack. I want to install a Thule Hullavator and need longer crossbars. Do you sell crossbars that can replace the existing bars or do I need to buy a new rack? Thanks

While we do have a great kayak carrier available with the lift-assist function for your 2017 Audi Q7, none of our roof rack manufacturers have aftermarket crossbars that are engineered to fit your current rails. This is because manufacturers typically do not design aftermarket crossbars that are made to serve as an alternative to OEM crossbars. This is the case with your Audi Q7.

With that being said, even though you do not have the crossbar length or overhang required to use the Thule Hullavator # TH898, a great alternative is the Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier and TelosXL Load Assist # MPG114MD-351XL. Not only is this route the much more economical solution, you do not need to worry about purchasing a whole new roof rack setup for transporting your kayaks. With the TelosXL lift assist, you can have the ease and comfort of having help to load your kayaks to your roof. As far as compatibility, the cradles mount to factory crossbars as long as they do not exceed 3" wide x 1" tall. In order to make sure it works with your bars, I recommend measuring the width and height of your crossbars in order to confirm.
