With Class I hitches like the Curt # C11120 you mentioned that fits your 2008 Subaru Impreza wagon you have to go with the required ball mount by the manufacturer which in this case would be the part # C45521.
Then for a hitch ball you'd wan the part # A-82 for a 2 inch ball or part # A-80 for a 1-7/8 inch ball.
